Farooqi was feeling encouraged as he accompanied the other men to their respective vehicles in the carpark outside the vice president’s country home. Chauffeur-driven vehicles awaited the others. He and Fatim had arrived in their own cars.

After waving the others off, he leaned against his Mercedes and lit a cigar while he awaited Fatim. He didn’t have long to wait. His lover joined him almost immediately.

“What was that about?” he asked.

“The vice president propositioned me,” Fatim laughed.

“And what did you say?”

“I said I’ll sleep with him when he’s president and not before.”

Now it was Farooqi’s turn to laugh.

“And what did he say?”

“He said that’s a date then.”

“Ha! In his dreams.”

They both chuckled as they went their separate ways.

“See you soon,” Fatim call out as she unlocked the door of her late model, sky blue sports car.

“Don’t be long,” Farooqi responded through his car’s open window.

Only now did he notice the color of his lover’s car matched her slinky dress. He wondered if she was aware of that.

The ambitious senior advisor accelerated toward the open security gate at the end of the long driveway. On the open road beyond the gate, he floored the accelerator. He wanted to reach his apartment before Fatim did. No easy task because he knew she was a speedster behind the wheel.

Farooqi wanted to arrive home first because he needed time alone to inject himself with testosterone. On top of the Viagra pills he’d been taking off and on for the past year or two, he found the hormone injections further boosted his performance, and he suspected he’d need to be on top form for what the night ahead had in store for him. He justified taking performance-enhancers by reminding himself he was in his forties now and needed an edge if he was to compete with the young bucks.

Thinking about Fatim made him excited and he could feel his manhood hardening.

On the public highway beyond the vice president’s private road, Farooqi noticed a police car parked up ahead on the side of the road. Ignoring it, he kept his foot hard down on the accelerator and the Mercedes hurtled past the stationary vehicle. The cop looked like he was about to give chase then changed his mind.

Farooqi laughed. Law enforcement always turned a blind eye when they saw the small government flag fluttering on his car’s bonnet. It would be worth more than the cop’s $1,500 a year salary to apprehend the senior advisor of a top government minister.
